Description

Deer House: The house is located on the south side of the Snowdonia National Park and is an end of terrace house which in 1826, was a weavers cottage. The Snowdonia National Park starts 3 miles away. Other attractions are the Centre for Alternative Technology, Nature Reserves, Talyllyn Railway, Devils Bridge and seaside Aberdovey and Borth. There are superb footpaths for walkers, trails for mountain bikers and many places for good days out. The house has one double bed but there is space for children's camp beds. This house is a clean and basic traditional cottage with a fairly steep staircase and has a rustic feel. It is not 5 star accommodation and we keep the price low. We have also recently renovated the property and this includes a new bathroom If you are looking for a clean and characterful cottage with Egyptian cotton sheets that is well located to many of the very best sites in this part of Wales then this is the perfect cottage for you.
The house has a small front garden, a patio at the back and a large side garden.
The Snowdonia National Park starts 3 miles away, which has the evocative Welsh name of 'Eryri' meaning ' the place of the eagles', is an area of outstanding natural beauty containing some of the most magnificent scenery in Wales.
Snowdonia is the second largest National Park in England and Wales. The National Park encompasses an area including picturesque Aberdovey and the popular Lake Bala in the east. Its rugged highlands and beautiful valleys are rich in cultural heritage and wildlife.
The historic town of nearby Machynlleth boasts a number of interesting buildings in addition to Owain Glyndwr's Parliament building. The Royal House which stands on the main through road is a great example of a medieval house. The town has a number of supermarkets as well as a liberal sprinkling of good pub restaurants and cafes.
Cadair Idris: The mountain looms menacing and primeval over the surrounding landscape. Cadair Idris consists of a massive 11km long ridge and although only the 19th highest mountain in Wales, is the second most popular mountain in the country after Mount Snowdon. For the more adventurous walk to the top of Snowdon or take the funicular railway to the summit.
Devils Bridge: View the three bridges built one on top of the other. Descend into the gorge to see the spectacular 300 ft waterfalls.
The alpine like Lake Bala is nearby. Visit its original restored railway station and traditional Welsh tea room.
Corris Railway: Ride this friendly 150 year old steam railway from Corris in the beautiful Dulas valley 5 miles North of Machynlleth.
Swim, surf or walk on nearby Both beach which has a three-mile stretch of sand.
Just ouside nearby Machynlleth is a very pretty tree lined river valley and huge waterfall with picnic area and cold water plunges.
A £50.00 refundable deposit may apply if you bring a pet. |
